Baby boomers have lived through some of the most exciting times in history. Born between the years of 1946 to 1964, Boomers have witnessed the Vietnam War, Civil Rights Movement, Assassinations of President Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. The world was affected by the events of these years. Boomers lived them.

As one of those fabulous Baby Boomers, you now own a lifetime of valuable experiences, experiences that are useful to other people. You’ve given so much to your family all these years. It’s dawning on you there may be a larger audience who would benefit from your knowledge. You’re just beginning to hit your stride. Writing a book is too daunting.

Television also helped the Baby Boomers create a distinct rock and roll generation. The Ed Sullivan Show featured The Beatles and spawned a generation of rock and roll. Transistor radios also helped create this same cultural identity. They all could listen to the Motown Sound, Jefferson Airplane, and those associated with Woodstock. Baby Boomers are also characteristically more liberal than their parents and are often associated with the Civil Rights Movement, the Women’s Movement, and varieties of social and sexual experimentation.

With the instability of Social Security, more and more Baby Boomers are turning to methods of supplemental income. Because of their love of travel, many of them are investing in laptops which they can take along while they cruise the US in their RV’s .Many network marketing opportunities can be done on the road and many dollars have been made while they are out enjoying their new lifestyle.

Physical activity may produce its own set of challenges for Baby Boomers. But inactivity itself is a threat to health. A sedentary lifestyle is associated with an increased risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis, stroke and some cancers. Regular physical exercise helps Boomers strengthen muscles, which in turn stabilizes joints, increases flexibility and keeps age-related diseases at bay.

Reducing uncertainties and knowing where you are going will reduce anxiety and build confidence. Planning and preparing now for your retirement lifestyle will build the confidence you need and build the foundation for a fulfilling retirement lifestyle. If you were a denizen of rock concerts in your youth – and many Baby Boomers were – you may worry that live music will leave you exhausted, with ringing ears! While some bands are louder than others, many play at a level that allows for conversation during performances.

Their uniqueness comes from the fact that many of these opportunities are such that no one else can see them or is prepared to step up to them.
